The new version is much better and I do like it.

There are still few issues which I like to highlight

1. Unity is everywhere, Pls replace it with CommonServiceLocator which is somewhat becoming an standard.

2. The Bootstrapping is some what static, need to expose it somehow to plugin/external developers, currently the web.config seems the only option.

3. The LinqToSQL code is not at all unit testable.

4. Though I am not sure but running Background Service on System.Threading.Timer is a good choice specially if it occupies threads from ASP.NET ThreadPool, need to investigate.

Overall it is much better than the earlier.

Thanks for the feedback Kazi, it's good to know where to focus our efforts next. On the specific points...

1. I took a look at the locator project recently but I'm still on the fence about it. It does make us container independent but I'm not sure what that buys us in the long run. I could see changing the classes that are injected with the IUnityContainer to use the CSL though and it might be a low-impact change.

2. Agreed. We're working on the best way to do that now. I like your blog post on the subject so don't be surprised if it looks familiar.

3. True. It's tough since we're doing some crazy translation work in that layer. I want to get away from that if possible but stil maintain the integrity of a domain model. More on this in Part 3.

4. We use this techinique on our other site based on our EvNet codebase (Channel 9 being the biggest example) and it works quite well. We're pretty confident in the technique.

I can't see your blog, or Erik's or Duncan's in Firefox. All three sites show very long empty page (apart from header and footer). Duncan's does have a 20px column where you can see the edge of some content.

Obviously, I had to use IE to comment. You might want to look into this (hopefully, it's just my computer).

I'm posting this reply from Firefox (3.0.6 according to my about page) so it looks like it's you and not me :)

Thanks for the report though, let us know if you figure out what's causing the problem.
